The duties and responsibilities of the Department of Systems and Communications Administration shall be as follows:

1. Provides support to the Ministry’s officials for continuous access to information and communication technology services;

2. Implements security measures for the Ministry’s systems with the aim of preventing cyber incidents;

3. Coordination of activities with ASK for the prevention of and response to security incidents.

4. Proposes policies for the administration of systems, databases and software applications;

5. Coordinates cybersecurity activities, including activities in case of cyber incidents in public and private institutions;

6. Coordinates cybersecurity activities with relevant institutions through the CSIRT within the MIA, including activities in case of cyber incidents in the Ministry and its agencies;

7. Proposes and undertakes actions for the digitalization of services in the MIA through the development, advancement, administration and maintenance of existing and new systems;

8. Proposes and develops information and communication technology projects related to the security and administration of the Ministry’s systems;

9. Administers the information technology infrastructure for the Ministry’s communication systems;

10. Administers the electronic registers of the Ministry;

11. Prepares periodic reports on the state of cybersecurity in the Ministry;

12. Performs other duties as defined by the applicable legislation.

The following Divisions shall be part of this Department:

1. Security and Systems Administration Division;

2.Application and Database Administration Division;

3. User Support Division.
