Legal Department

Duties and responsibilities of Legal Department are:

  1. Provides legal support in drafting of strategic and legislative documents from the scope of the ministry;
  2. Provides support in drafting of primary and secondary legislation from the scope of the ministry;
  3. Ensures respecting of techniques and standards of drafting of legislation from the scope of the ministry;
  4. Ensures harmonization of the legislation of the ministry with European Union legislation (aqcuis communautaire) as well as with applicable laws in Kosovo;
  5. Provides legal advices and recommendations from the scope of the ministry;
  6. Cooperates with Ministry of Justice for representing of the ministry in judiciary contests;
  7. Assists and coordinates the process of initiatives for international agreements within the scope of the MIA, ensures that the procedure is done in accordance with the Law on International Agreements and keeps records of all international agreements concluded on behalf of the MIA and its Agencies

 

 

Following divisions are part of this department:

  1. Division for Drafting and Harmonization of Legislation;
  2. Division for Monitoring the Implementation of Legislation, Legal Support and Inter-institutional Cooperation in the Field of Legislation;
  3. Division for Coordination of International Agreements.
