Department for European Integrations, International Cooperation and Coordination of Policies

The duties and responsibilities of the Department for European Integration, International Cooperation and Coordination of Policies are:

 

  1. Assists and advises in determining and setting the priorities of the Ministry in accordance with the policies of the Government, taking into account the obligations arising from the European integration process and other processes related to international cooperation;
  2. Coordinates and supports the process of implementation of standards and requirements arising from the process of European integration and other international standards;
  3. Monitors and reports on the implementation of recommendations and requirements arising from the European integration process;
  4. Provides support in the harmonization of domestic legislation with the legislation of the European Union (acquis communautaire) with special emphasis on Chapter 24 "Justice, Freedom and Securityā€¯;
  5. Coordinates and plans financial support from EU funds, bilateral funds and other international organizations, as well as leads steering or similar groups to supervise project implementation;
  6. Provides support and coordinates the establishment and achievement of international cooperation, as well as monitors its implementation at bilateral and multilateral level;
  7. Coordinates the development of policies and strategic documents of the ministry based on the sectorial approach and in accordance with the priorities of the Government, the ministry and EU standards;
  8. Coordinates the management of the process before and after visa liberalization.

Within this department are the following divisions:


  1. Division for European Integration;
  2. Division for International Cooperation;
  3. Division for Coordination of Policies.
