Pristina

The Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr. Xhelal Sveçla, received the Deputy Managing Director of EU’s European External Action Service (EEAS), Marko Makovec, the EU Ambassador to Kosovo, Thomas Szunyog, and their teams.

During this meeting, the parties talked about the engagements of the Ministry of Internal Affairs aimed at rule of law and order, protecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Kosovo.

Together they discussed the security situation in the northern municipalities, whereby Minister Sveçla raised his concern about Serbia’s consecutive public threats and the continuous training of groups over there for the execution of new attacks within the Republic of Kosovo, highlighting that our country continues to be under unfair EU sanctions which Minister Sveçla asked to be lifted.

Minister Sveçla informed the EU representatives that the daily commitment of the institutions of our country is based on the best European values and practices, and it is a testament to our determination to integration in the European Union, a family which Kosovo must become part of.
