The Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr. Xhelal Sveçla, through an address, has wished a happy International Women’s Day. On this occasion, Minister Sveçla emphasized that 8 March is the date that reminds us of the continuous effort for equality and justice. 8 March is a call for uninterrupted cooperation so that every girl and every woman can live with dignity, equality, safety and protection.

“The resistance and contribution of girls and women in our people’s history remain the best example that each of us has before us,” emphasized Sveçla.

He emphasized that as Minister of Internal Affairs, not only today but every day, efforts are being made for every woman to live and act safely in our country, so that every despicable murderer of girls and women is swiftly brought to justice and receives the deserved punishment.

“Recognizing the inequality that has prevailed over the years towards girls and women in employment, our goal remains to raise all mechanisms to guarantee the participation of women and girls within the public sector,” Minister Sveçla stressed in continuation of the address.

The Minister of Internal Affairs emphasized that the security sector needs even more women and girls, and this constitutes our priority. Girls and women who are in uniform every day have proven that service to citizens and to the Republic knows no gender.

Minister Sveçla said on this marked day of 8 March, I express my deepest gratitude to every girl and every woman who has broken every barrier before her. Ahead of us, we have many challenges that are overcome through cooperation and collaboration as institutions and as a society.

Happy today and every day, we will not cease to work for equality and justice, well-being and security.
