The Minister of Internal Affairs Xhelal Sveçla, accompanied by the Director of the Directorate for the Investigation of War Crimes, Major Bashkim Spahiu, today hosted the Executive Director of the Institute for Crimes Committed During the War in Kosovo, Atdhe Hetemi. On this occasion, Minister Sveçla congratulated Mr. Hetemi on the position of the Director of this important Institute for the Republic of Kosovo.

Inter-institutional cooperation, especially between the Directorate for the Investigation of War Crimes and the Institute of Crimes Committed during the War in Kosovo, contributes to the identification of all evidence of crimes committed by Serbia during the war in Kosovo and helps bring all the perpetrators to justice.

Minister Sveçla informed Director Hetemi about the serious and successful engagement of the Kosovo Police in bringing war crimes suspects to justice and emphasized the commitment of the two institutions to cooperate closely.

The opening of the Institute and the engagement of all actors in its strengthening will help in preserving the collective memory, in the institutional addressing of the genocide committed by Serbia in Kosovo and in justice for all the missing victims of our society and country.
