Minister of Internal Affairs Mr. Xhelal Sveçla is attending the meeting of Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund (GCERF) Board members which is being held in Geneva.

On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Minister Sveçla underlined the commitment of institutions to the prevention and combat of violent extremism and terrorism, with particular emphasis on the success so far in the process of returning our citizens from war zones, a process for which the Republic of Kosovo is considered as a model of success for other countries.

Minister Sveçla in his speech also discussed the need to intensify communication and deepen cooperation between states as a necessity for effective prevention and combat of extremism and terrorism as a global risk.

The Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund (GCERF) will continue its work the following day, where Minister Sveçla is expected to participate in the high level event to discuss inter alia the risks of terrorism.
