The Ministry of Internal Affairs issued a decision allowing for the transition from driving licenses issued by illegal Serbian institutions in Kosovo to those officially issued by the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo.  

Transitioning to RKS driving licenses facilitates the easy and practical registration of vehicles. It does not require retaking the driving test but only an application which every citizen must submit to the Document Issuing Center, including:  

-  Identification card,

-  Original driving license issued by Serbian authorities,

-  Health certificate for obtaining a driving license,

-  Proof of payment of the fee, and

-  Original driving license issued by UNMIK or the Republic of Kosovo in case of applying for additional categories, which is also enabled by this decision of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
