-          Temporary residence for the purpose of family reunification

1. A valid travel document with a validity period of at least 3 months longer than the requested residence permit;
2. Marriage certificate, family union certificate, or birth certificate of children; in cases of adoption, proof of adoption establishment, or in cases of guardianship, proof of guardianship establishment;
3. Identification document from the citizen of the Republic of Kosovo or the sponsor;
4. Sufficient means of subsistence, evidenced through a bank statement, employment contract, or other proof demonstrating that the foreigner has sufficient means of subsistence;
5. Proof of secured housing (proof of ownership or notarized rental contract), with the necessary living space according to the minimum housing standards set by applicable legislation;
6. Certificate of no criminal conviction, issued by the state of which the foreigner is a citizen or by the state of the last residence, translated into one of the official languages of the Republic of Kosovo;
7. Health insurance;
8. Have entry ban in the Republic of Kosovo;
9. Vaccination certificate in cases where the foreigner comes from countries where a state of epidemic has been declared.

In cases of submission of an application for temporary residence for the purpose of family reunification based on cohabitation, requirement no. 2 does not need to be fulfilled; however, proof of 3-year cohabitation is required, or a birth certificate if a child was born during the cohabitation.

 

-          Temporary residence for the purpose of employment

1. A valid travel document with a validity period of at least 3 months longer than the requested residence permit;
2. Employment contract, in accordance with the labour legislation of the Republic of Kosovo; exceptionally, the employment contract is not required for a foreigner who is the owner of the business;
3. Sufficient means of subsistence, evidenced through a bank statement or employment contract;
4. A certificate showing no ongoing investigations, issued by the state of which the foreigner is a citizen or by the state of the last residence, translated into one of the official languages of the Republic of Kosovo;
5. Business registration certificate and business information;
6. Proof of education, acquired qualifications and skills of the foreigner (original or notarized copy) translated into one of the official languages of the Republic of Kosovo, exceptionally, this requirement is not applicable for a foreigner who is the owner of the business);
7. Have no entry ban in the Republic of Kosovo;
8. Health insurance;
9. Vaccination certificate in cases where the foreigner comes from countries where a state of epidemic has been declared.

In cases where the application for a residence permit for the purpose of employment within the annual employment quota is submitted by a foreigner employed in an NGO, the requirement provided in point 5 does not need to be fulfilled; however, the registration certificate of the NGO in the Republic of Kosovo must be submitted.

 

-          Temporary residence for the purpose of pre-university education

 

1.      A valid travel document with a validity period of at least 3 months longer than the requested residence permit;

2.      Certificate of enrollment in an educational institution in the Republic of Kosovo;

3.      Certificate of consent from the parent or legal guardian for the planned stay, the purpose of which is pre-university education in the Republic of Kosovo, notarized or certified by a court;

4.      Sufficient means of subsistence, evidenced through a bank statement or other proof demonstrating that the foreigner will cover living expenses; in cases of student exchange, proof that the organization running the program covers living expenses, healthcare and return costs;

5.      Proof of accommodation; in cases where the foreigner stays with a family, evidence that the family meets the accommodation requirements in accordance with the applicable legal provisions;

6.      A certificate showing no ongoing investigations, issued by the state of which the foreigner is a citizen or by the state of the last residence, translated into one of the official languages of the Republic of Kosovo;

7.      Health insurance;

8.      Have no entry ban in the Republic of Kosovo;

-          Temporary residence for the purpose of higher education and scientific research

1. A valid travel document with a validity period of at least 3 months longer than the requested residence permit;
2. Certificate of enrollment in a higher education institution in the Republic of Kosovo;
3. Sufficient means of subsistence, evidenced through a bank statement or other notarized proof demonstrating that the foreigner will cover living expenses;
4. Proof of accommodation, including the exact residential address.
5. A certificate showing no ongoing investigations, issued by the state of which the foreigner is a citizen or by the state of the last residence, translated into one of the official languages of the Republic of Kosovo;
6. Health insurance;
7. Have no entry ban in the Republic of Kosovo;
8. Proof in cases of student exchange and youth mobility, or proof of an internship authorized by the organization, or based on international agreements, as well as agreements between universities, as provided for in Article 57, subparagraphs 1.2 and 1.3 of the Law on Foreigners;

For temporary residence for the purpose of scientific research, all the requirements above must be met, as well as the following additional requirements:

·         Invitation from a licensed institution in the Republic of Kosovo;

·         Agreement, which must include:

o   the title or purpose of the research activity or the research area;

o   the obligations of the third-country national to endeavor to complete the research activities;

o   the obligations of the research organization to host the third-country national for the purpose of completing the research activity;

o   the start and end date or the planned duration of the research activity.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR RENEWAL OF TEMPORARY RESIDENCE PERMIT

 

Foreigners applying for the renewal of a temporary residence permit, without changing the purpose of the initial application, must submit the following documents:

 

1.      Valid travel document;

2.      Proof of possession of sufficient financial means for subsistence;

3.      A certificate attesting that the applicant has not been convicted by the Court of the Republic of Kosovo;

4.      Health insurance;

 

CLARIFICATION – The application for the renewal of a temporary residence permit must be submitted within 30 days before the expiry of the temporary residence permit.

 

The fees for temporary residence permits are:

For the purpose of employment          50 Euro
For the family reunion                        30 Euro

For the purpose of study                     10 Euro
For loss or damage                              10 Euro
