The Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, Xhelal Sveçla, met today with the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities, Christophe Kamp. Minister Sveçla thanked the High Commissioner for his visit and for the OSCE’s ongoing support in strengthening the institutional capacities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the Ministry’s commitments regarding the implementation of the Law on Foreigners, as well as further actions to integrate healthcare and education in the northern part of the Republic of Kosovo into the country’s legal framework. Minister Sveçla further informed Ambassador Kamp about the efforts of his ministry to ensure the inclusion of communities within the institutions as well as those in their service.

Minister Sveçla reconfirmed the dedication of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to respecting and guaranteeing the rights of communities, and the full commitment of relevant institutions to maintaining a peaceful and safe environment for all citizens
