Minister Sveçla is participating in the Salzburg Forum

The Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, is participating in the Salzburg Forum meeting where regional cooperation in the field of migration management and border security is being discussed.
During his speech, Minister Sveçla welcomed the launch of the Entry/Exit System (EES), calling it an important step towards the modernization and digitalization of the external borders of the Schengen area. He emphasized that Kosovo is interested in benefiting from such systems to increase border security and improve migration management.
The Minister also stressed the importance of informing Kosovo citizens regarding the rules of travel and residence in the Schengen area, as well as regarding the rules in Kosovo that are in line with EU directives, through information campaigns and dedicated online platforms.
Within the discussion on cooperation with Frontex in the Western Balkans, Minister Sveçla praised the cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Frontex, emphasizing the joint engagement with the Kosovo Police at several border points and at Prishtina International Airport.
Minister Sveçla reiterated Kosovo's commitment to deepening cooperation with its European partners and advancing cooperation with EUROPOL to contribute as a reliable partner to regional security and beyond.
