The Ministry of Internal Affairs welcomes the joint action undertaken by the Basic Prosecution Office in Prishtina and the Kosovo Police, which resulted in the arrest of four (4) suspected individuals, two of whom are officials of the Ministry. There are well-founded suspicions that they have committed the criminal offenses of “abuse of official duty” and “acceptance of a bribe”.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs underlines that it shall not tolerate any form of abuse of official duty or involvement in unlawful activities by any of its officials. Any act that is contrary to the law and to the standards of institutional integrity will be addressed with the utmost seriousness and in full cooperation with the justice authorities.
The Ministry remains firmly committed to combating corruption and to strengthening transparency, accountability, and the rule of law at all institutional levels, guaranteeing that no one will be above the law.
In this context, the MIA will continue to cooperate closely with the relevant institutions to ensure the full clarification of the case and the proper administration of justice.
