The Ministry of Internal Affairs informs the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo that there are still a few days left to exercise the right to apply for registration of facts in the Central Civil Status Registry of the Republic of Kosovo according to Decision No. 0616/2024 of 21/11/2024 of the Minister of Internal Affairs.

We invite citizens to exercise the right to register facts according to Decision No. 0616/2024 of 21/11/2024 until 30 April 2025. After this date, civil status facts (birth, marriage and death) that were registered in illegal Serbian structures from 10 June 1999 to 1 February 2025 will not be able to be registered in the Central Civil Status Registry of the Republic of Kosovo.

The right to submit a request for registration of facts according to this decision is granted to all citizens of the Republic of Kosovo who have registered the civil status facts (birth, marriage and death) in illegal Serbian structures from 10 June 1999 to 1 February 2025.

We inform citizens that for births and deaths that occurred after 1 February 2025 in the territory of the Republic of Kosovo, including those outside health institutions and those for which no certificate or document can be provided as evidence, they should submit a request for subsequent registration through a declaration at the Civil Status Offices of their respective municipalities.

The processing of requests, criteria and procedures are defined in accordance with the legislation on civil status. Citizens can obtain information at the Civil Status Office where they will submit the request regarding the documents they must submit and the criteria they must meet.

So far, the decision is being implemented with full success for all categories regulated by it and during the period 01/02/2025 to 25/04/2025, a total of 4330 registrations have been completed, including 2159 births, 1108 marriages and 1063 deaths.

Given the success achieved so far, the Ministry of Internal Affairs is continuing to take all necessary actions to ensure the full implementation of the decision, as well as to improve services, in order to provide more opportunities and support to the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo.
