The Ministry of Internal Affairs informs all citizens that starting from 10 May 2024, the process of converting driving licenses issued by illegal Serbian structures into driving licenses of the Republic of Kosovo will begin and will last until 9 August 2024.

 

All citizens who possess driving licenses issued by illegal Serbian structures can apply for an official driving license of the Republic of Kosovo through the electronic application form on the website https://patentshoferonline.rks-gov.net/ or in person at the Document Issuance Center in all municipalities of Kosovo.

 

When attending in person for application at the desks of the Document Issuance Centers, citizens must possess the following documents:

 

ID Card of the Republic of Kosovo,

 

Original driving license issued by Serbian authorities,

 

Health certificate for obtaining the driving license equipment.

 

The health certificate is issued by health institutions licensed by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kosovo throughout the territory of the Republic of Kosovo;

 

The price for the health certificate varies depending on the category of vehicle for which the driving  license is possessed, as follows: For category B/BE, the price of the health certificate is twenty Euro  (20.00€); For category C and category D, the price of the health certificate is fifty Euro (50.00€).

 

Proof of payment of the fee, the value of which is fifteen Euro (15.00€), and the original driving license issued by UNMIK or RKS in case of an application for category addition, which is also made possible by this decision of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, are required.

 

The procedure for obtaining a driving license of the Republic of Kosovo lasts fifteen (15) days. The driving license issued by Serbian structures is returned to the applicant as an invalid document, and the same is provided with a driving license of the Republic of Kosovo.
