Officials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs visited the Municipality of North Mitrovica to monitor the process of applications for residence permits and the registration of civil status facts.
On this occasion, a working visit was conducted to the Municipality of North Mitrovica, with the aim of closely monitoring the process of receiving applications for residence permits and providing legal support to citizens interested in regularizing their legal status in the Republic of Kosovo.
Representatives from the CRA, the Legal Department and the Department for Citizenship, Asylum and Migration participated in this visit, monitoring the work of officials engaged in receiving applications for residence permits and the registration of civil status facts in North Mitrovica.
During the visit, officials also held direct meetings with a number of citizens interested in regularizing their status, informing them of legal procedures and concrete opportunities for resolving their situations and obtaining documentation of the Republic of Kosovo.
Issues raised by citizens included, among others:
· Obtaining documentation of the Republic of Kosovo for spouses of Kosovo citizens through the family reunification procedure;
· Registration and provision of documentation for children of Kosovo citizens born abroad;
· Procedures for applying for residence permits for family members of persons who have already obtained residence permits of the Republic of Kosovo.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs remains committed to providing accessible and transparent services to all citizens, ensuring uniform implementation of legislation throughout the territory of the Republic of Kosovo.
The visit to North Mitrovica is part of ongoing efforts to inform citizens of opportunities to regularize their status and obtain documentation of the Republic of Kosovo. Similar visits will continue in other municipalities of the Republic of Kosovo.
