Permanent residence permit

 

PERMANENT RESIDENCE

  1. Have five (5) years of uninterrupted temporary residence in the Republic of Kosovo; exceptionally, in cases of permanent residence for family reunification through marriage or cohabitation, uninterrupted residence is required to be three (3) years.
  2. A minor with temporary residence in the Republic of Kosovo is granted permanent residence if one of the parents is a foreigner with permanent residence, with the consent of the other parent.
  3. Have basic knowledge of one of the official languages in writing, as well as knowledge of the culture and social system of the Republic of Kosovo, which is verified through a written test organized by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

CLARIFICATION: Language knowledge is not required for preschool children; persons who have completed primary, secondary or higher education in the Republic of Kosovo; persons over 65 years of age if not employed, and foreigners whose mother tongue is one of the official languages of the Republic of Kosovo.

 

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR PERMANENT RESIDENCE PERMIT

  1. Valid travel document;
  2. A certificate attesting that the applicant has not been convicted by the Court of the Republic of Kosovo;
  3. Proof of the marital relationship;
  4. Proof of financial means for subsistence;
  5. Health insurance;
  6. Evidence of secured accommodation;

 

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED PERMANENT RESIDENCE PERMIT AND RENUNCIATION OF RKS CITIZENSHIP

 

1.      Valid travel document;

2.      A certificate showing no ongoing investigations, issued by the competent authority of the state of which the foreigner is a citizen or by the state of his/her last residence, translated into one of the official languages of the Republic of Kosovo.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR RENEWAL OF THE PERMANENT RESIDENCE PERMIT ID CARD

 

1.      Valid passport;

2.      A certificate attesting that the applicant has not been convicted by the Court of the Republic of Kosovo;

3.      Health insurance;

4.      Certificate of residence address.

 


The fees for permanent residence permits are:


For the purpose of employment                      100 Euro
For the family reunion                                    70 Euro

For the renunciation of citizenship                 50 Euro

For loss, damage and repetition                      10 Euro
